Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day

Friday 15th March

As you may be aware, Red Nose Day is fast approaching and on Friday 15th March 2019, we will be having a range of lunchtime inter house fundraising events starting on Monday 11th March. We hope students enjoy organising and participating in a range of activities. Thank you for your support with the fundraising.

All the money we raise will be used to change countless lives, both here in the UK and worldwide. In fact, just £3 could pay for crayons, pencils, paint and paper for children living in a Serbian refugee camp and £10 could cover the cost of 10 hot meals for a homeless person in the UK. We will also be using Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to help our pupils explore the issues facing young people across the world, and how the money we raise can help.

BVC Events will include

  • Non-school uniform - Students can wear any appropriate clothing they wish for the day; all we ask is that they donate £1.00.
  • Red Nose Cake Stall - Students and staff will bake cakes to be sold at break and our catering team Chartwells will bake lots of special red nose biscuits to raise even more cash! If possible, we would love your support to make cakes to sell.
  • Inter house lunchtime events - From Monday 11th March, each house will be running a daily fundraising event at lunchtime. More details on the specific events will be shared with students.

All of the events will be co-ordinated by the House Ambassadors, Student Leadership Team and Student Council, who will be explaining the events and why we are doing them in more detail in during the week prior to it, through assemblies and form time. All activities will be voluntary. It is also important to remember that lessons will be happening as normal, so the usual expectations regarding behaviour still apply.
