Celebration & Reflection

It is this time of year when our attention turns, in school, to how we can celebrate our successes and reflect on what we appreciate, what we value, and what we have learned this term.
This act of celebration and reflection has, of course, been made more challenging over the recent weeks; however, we are determined to offer our students, staff, and the wider community a fitting festive send-off, in our final week of term.
With this in mind, we would like to share with you all our plans for this week:

Your Christmas Wish
We have asked all staff and students to write their own Christmas wish to reflect on what we have missed and valued most this year. Students have been sent a form on Google Classroom to write their wish which they will then have an opportunity to discuss with their tutor during the week.

Christmas Jumper Day - Thursday 17th December
We will be supporting the charity Save the Children again this year by inviting students to wear a Christmas jumper to school on Thursday. If students do not have a Christmas jumper then they can participate by wearing the best, brightest jumper that they own! This will be a non-uniform day and students will be asked to donate £1 for participating.

If your child is working from home that day and would like to take part, please ask them to send their form tutors a picture of them wearing their jumpers. If parents would like to join in with the festive fun then we would welcome their photos also.

Please send any pictures to chawes@bottishamvc.org and donations to Save the Children can be made using this link: CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY DONATIONS.

Festive Activities
We will be having a range of in-form Christmas activities, quizzes, performances, and games for students to engage with where they can score points for their houses.

Christmas Lunch
We will be offering students a Christmas menu this week with all their festive favourites including hot turkey baguettes with sausage and bacon, mince pies, cookies, and cinnamon swirls.

Friday, 18 December - Last Day of Term - A reminder that the school will close at 1.25pm with students able to get the buses home, as normal, at that time.

Please keep an eye out on our social media platforms this week for updates on all our festive activities both in and out of school.

Best wishes,
Cameron Hawes
