‘A Typical Day’ at the Red2Greenhouse
A ‘typical day’ at the Red2Greenhouse comprises of a cup of tea when everyone arrives, to enable everyone to talk to each other and catch up on each other lives before the day begins. Morning tasks start once everyone has arrived and can consist of many activities from external visits to garden centres or nature walks (all centred on the horticultural theme) to on site tasks from gardening to classroom activities, dependant on the weather! Gardening tasks include unloading vegetables from the lorry, delivering vegetables to the local school shop at Bottisham Village College as well as watering plants, serving customers, potting hanging baskets and weeding the sensory garden. Afternoon activities are normally classroom tasks and comprise of craft or educational tasks, such as potato printing, leaf rubbing, educational college work, pom pom making, puzzles and card games! The day at the garden normally finishes at approximately 3pm.
