Year 9 Options Process

Year 9 Options Process

Our Options process begins this week, with students being given their options booklets

The booklet contains details of all the subjects and courses on offer, and serves as a basic source of reference. A copy can be downloaded here.

The college Options Information Evening will be held on Monday 26th February. This event, to which pupils are not invited, starts in the main hall at 6.30pm with an introductory talk of half an hour. After that, there will be an opportunity for you to ask each faculty about the courses that they offer. This session will last from 7.00pm to 7.45pm.

In the fortnight commencing 26th February, students will also be given a morning assembly by each faculty in turn, outlining the courses that they offer.

Later on in the term, all students will have a 10-minute guidance interview, during which their provisional choices will be discussed and refined. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend this interview, details of which – including appointment times - will be given nearer the date.

Wednesday 28th March is the planned deadline for the handing in of forms. We ask that no forms are handed in before this date, to ensure that your child has accessed all sources of information before making their choices.
