BVC Fundraising Event - Reflect and Unite, Friday 16th June 2017Help us raise money for the charity ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’.
The recent terror attacks in London and Manchester have affected the whole nation, especially young people with the Manchester attacks.
We wish to raise money in aid of the families impacted, during our ‘Bottisham: Reflect and Unite Day’, which will take place on Friday 16th June 2017.
As a sign of respect, we have decided to have a non-uniform day to raise money for the recognised charity: the ‘We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’. We would like students and staff who wish to participate to donate a minimum of £1 to contribute to the charity.
We will also be having a bake sale at break time. We would suggest that students bring money if they wish to purchase any of the baked goods. If your child wishes, they can also bring in cakes/ any other baked good to sell, which would make a great difference and help us raise as much money as possible.
Furthermore, in tutor time, students will create a collaborative form group message that will later be placed on the world tree as a mark of respect to those who have lost lives or been injured. These messages are also intended to share and promote our experiences of the power of community, and how, without question, we are better off united, rather than divided. We will share some of these messages via the college’s twitter feed as the day progresses.
It is important that we show signs of unity in light of recent events. We are hoping that students will come together and enjoy the picnic whilst also taking time reflect upon and remember the lives that have been lost recently.
Many thanks in advance for your support of this event,
The Student Leadership Team
